How to Check Your HOPE GPA The ONLY way to check a student’s HOPE

How to Check Your HOPE GPA The ONLY way to check a student’s HOPE GPA is by logging into their GAFutures account. The following fields must be entered and correct in the account in order to see the HOPE GPA: ❖ Name ❖ Date of Birth ❖ Social Security # ❖ Select the box with the Option “Share my personal information” If a student doesn’t know their username and/or password, they need to see their counselor.

How is the HOPE GPA Calculated? The HOPE GPA Calculation is pretty easy to understand…here’s how it works: ❖ Looking at the transcript. Highlight all of core curriculum classes (English, Math, Social Studies, Science, & World Languages). ❖ You would then have to convert all the grades in the highlighted classes from a 100 point scale to a 4. 0 scale: ➢ A = 4. 0 ➢ B = 3. 0 ➢ C = 2. 0 ➢ F = 0 (Don’t fail classes. This is really bad for your HOPE GPA!!!)

How is the HOPE GPA Calculated? ❖ For any academic course that taken at

How is the HOPE GPA Calculated? ❖ For any academic course that taken at the AP level or Dual Enrollment level, you would add. 5 weight to the grade (unless an “A” was made in the class--no weight is added to these). For example, if a student took AP World History last year, and the final grade was an 85 or B, that would go into the HOPE GPA calculation as 3. 5. It would be the same if the grade was an 81 or an 89. ❖ Find the average of all of academic courses on the 4. 0 scale (add them all up and divide by the total number of academics). ❖ That’s how the math works, but remember, the ONLY way to check a student’s actual HOPE GPA is by logging into their GAFutures account.
