Payment Methods – Any 7 -Eleven / Circle K convenience stores in Hong Kong – PPS – Internet Banking SEOs are advised to print the ‘Outstanding Payment List’ to check the payment status of their candidates. Late payment between 20 Oct 2015 and 26 Oct 2015 (before 5: 00 pm) should be settled at the HKEAA Southorn Centre office counter during office hours, entries will be accepted on payment of a supplementary fee of $231 per candidate in addition to the subject fees. 7

CHECKLIST Before Registration p All students entering for the 2016 HKDSE are bona fide S 6 students in the school year 2015/2016. p School Examination Officer (SEO)/School Principal should have their own login ID and password ready. p Download and read “Guides to Schools for Preparing Entries - September Registration” p Read carefully: “Instructions to Applicants” and “User Manual for the HKDSE Examination Registration System” p Read “Supplementary Information for Schools Using Web. SAMS” for the steps of preparing their candidates’ entry data in the Web. SAMS and transmitting the data files via CDS. 8

Major Changes (1) Registration for the subject of Literature in English Starting from the 2016 HKDSE, the assessment framework of Literature in English is based on the study of one set of texts. Hence, schools need not choose the set option for their candidates in the Registration System. Literature in English (Set 1) Literature in English (Set 2) 9

Major Changes (2) Registration for Ap. L subject • Starting from the 2016 HKDSE, S 5 repeaters entering for “Ap. L subjects only” as school candidates are no longer required to seek special approval from the HKEAA or submit supporting documents via their school. • Endorsement will be made by the school principal upon confirmation with the course provider(s) via clicking the related declaration in the Registration System before the submission of entries. Registration for Ap. L subjects • Registration for Category B Ap. L subjects [including S 5 repeaters (if any)] must be made via the Registration System within the registration period. Otherwise, the candidates’ results of Category B subjects will not be shown on their 2016 HKDSE results notice and certificate (if applicable) nor be carried forward to the 2017 HKDSE. • Pay attention to the name of the Ap. L subjects as some of the subject names are very similar. Major Changes (3) Super-late applications for entry and subject amendment • Applications will normally not be accepted after 14 December 2015. Requests made thereafter will be exceptionally considered by the Secretary General on a case-by-case basis. • Any super-late requests for changes will not be accepted after a date to be stipulated by the HKEAA upon distribution of the Admission Form. 12

Major Changes • In addition, the HKEAA will cease to provide faxed copies of question papers to wrong-centre or wrong-version candidates. • No special arrangements will be made on the spot for a candidate who has registered for a wrong paper/module or who has gone to a wrong examination centre. • The candidate will need to work on the version of the question papers available at the centre. However, the answers can be written in the language the candidate has registered for or intended to register for. 13

Major Changes (4) Release of results for Category C (Other Languages – June 2016 Series) 2016 HKDSE : Early August 2016 Note: Special arrangements have been made with JUPAS so that the results of the candidates concerned will still be considered for local tertiary admission purposes, together with the upgraded Category A results to be released in mid-August 2016 after rechecking and remarking. 14

Major Changes Imp orta nt N ote 201 for 7 H KD SE Starting from 2017, the Category C June series examination results will be released in late August, which could not meet the JUPAS schedule for tertiary admissions. Reminder: S 5 students who are studying Category C French and Spanish and intend to take the Category C French and Spanish examinations in the 2017 HKDSE should sit the November 2016 series examination so that their results could be considered by JUPAS for tertiary admission purposes. 15

Late Entry / Subject Amendment • Application for Late Entry / Change of subject entry information after the completion of registration is subject to the approval of the HKEAA and payment of supplementary fees: • Late Entry: $357 per candidate • Addition or Substitution of subjects: supplementary fee of HK$231 per application (irrespective of the number of subjects) 20

Substitution of a subject - Replacement of a subject by another one - Change of language version - Replacement of a paper / module in a subject by another one within the same subject e. g. adding / deleting Mathematics Extended Part M 1/M 2, changing M 1 to M 2 or vice versa, changing subject combination of Combined Science, etc. - Replacement of a physical activity by another one (for Physical Education) - Replacement of a musical instrument by another one (for Music) - Application for paper exemption for Music or vice versa 21
