(rites of baptism; getting one’s driver’s license at age 16 is a rite of passage into adulthood)
32. Principal, Principle • Principal-A person who holds a leading position, especially the head of a school (your PAL), the sum of money owed as a debt, OR the main form which all other forms can be derived. • Principle-A basic truth or statement or general set of moral or ethical standards.
33. Affect, Effect • Affect-To have an influence on; bring about change in (verb). Hint: Affect starts with an A and is an ACTION verb. • Effect-Something brought about by a cause or agent; a result (noun).
34. Accept; Except • Accept- to receive something • Except- to exclude something or leave something out.
