Assignment Details • Chapters 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 are outlined in the following slides. • Please answer all parts of the question. • Points are most frequently lost due to formatting (see previous slide and also consider the importance of restating the question), providing context, failure to critically analyze and being able to relate examples provided (personal insight) to practice skill examined in the book.

Chapter 9 Turn in Tuesday March 18 th • 9. 4 Describe a problem in your life (current or past). Put yourself in the role of social worker, write five open ended questions that would help the social worker gain understanding. Write out five and explain why you chose each one of them. • 9. 5 • 9. 6 Describe a long term stressful situation. Identify ways you knew the person was under stress (at least 3) Write a reflecting comment and 5 open ended questions Describe a person you feel is genuine, this can be done by identifying qualities in that person that match what the book describes as genuine or you can add your own from your personal definition, write at least 3. Do the same thing for someone who is not genuine.

Describe experience Would your hope/confidence improved if you talked to a friend who had experienced a similar situation? How did that impact your level of hope?

This feedback will be important to success on your final two assignments. Every effort will be made to allow time for questions on the day it is returned.
