Homework Expectations Ø Homework sheets will be given out weekly for Monday -Thursday, and will be checked at the beginning of the class period. Ø Homework reviews topics we have already learned and does NOT focus on the current topic. If you are having difficulty, refer back to that day’s warm-up. Ø Grading is as follows: Ø 100 Pts. for every question answered AND all work shown. Ø 60 Pts. For some questions answered OR not enough work shown OR turned in late. Ø 0 Pts. For no work shown OR not turned in. Ø Homework is accepted until reports come out, including interim reports. Once reports are handed out, I will no longer accept homework assigned before that date. Ø Homework is worth 15% of your overall grade. Courtyard time is right after 4 th period. *LATE work will not be accepted after report cards, that includes interim reports! There will be a 10 point deduction when received late. Exceptions will be made by teacher discretion Weekly Info A weekly update on what is happening in class will be sent out before every Monday. This is subject to change so please look at your student’s agenda for more up to date detail. Tests 40% grading Supply List Tutoring schedule There will be 1 -2 test(s) per unit. They will be split by topics and before every test there will be a study guide and we will go over it in class. Quizzes 30% There will be 1 -2 quizzes per unit. The questions will mimic the questions from your notes but in multiple choice format. You CANNOT correct quizzes. Classwork 15% Includes unnannounced warm-up quizzes, homework quizzes, APEX assingments, worksheets. Homework 15% Extra Credit **The only extra credit that will be given will be the Problem of the Week (POWs) that will be listed in the room. There will be a new one every week and the students will be given an entire week to complete them. These are more in depth and critical thinking questions and that’s why they get a full week, or sometimes longer. These will NOT be accepted late. All POW’s will require a write up portion as well, the instructions your student will have and they will also be posted in the classroom. All students are expected to follow the class rules.
