Aim #7: What are the similarities and differences between Confucianism and Daoism? • Confucianism argues that formal education provides the knowledge that will lead to success and shape your personality, while Daoism argues that the knowledge you gain from everyday experiences is much more valuable. Which philosophy do you agree with more on this issue, and why? • Based on the chart and our class discussions, which philosophy do you think will do the most effective job of bringing order and harmony to a society? Which philosophy would you be most likely to follow in your own life? Why? • The chart focuses on the major differences between these philosophies. Are there any similarities?
