HOMELAND SECURITY FACTS • Homeland Security was created on November 25, 2002 in response to the September 11 attacks. • Immigration & Customs Enforcement • Immigration & Naturalization Service • Homeland Security missions are prevent terrorism and increasing security. Also securing all boarders and citizens. • Homeland Security by our federal government has created financial stress and mental stress for out public.
FINANCIAL STRESS • The federal government budget grew from $31 billion in 2000 to $55 billion in 2010. • Spend on big agencies like Border and Customs, Secret Service and other agencies. • There has been more money since September 11 • Money is not being distributed correctly with small populations and little risk of terrorist attacks. • Politicians feel that this is not correct and injustice for this happening to their small populated states.
FEAR & MEDIA • After September 11 many American citizens have fear of terrorist attacks. • All the information that the America citizens receive about terrorism is from the federal government with an interest in reinforcing excessive fear. • Citizens want more protection than what they need.
CONCLUSION • In conclusion American citizens have fear of an incident like September 11 to happen again. They want be protected from their federal government every day. Money has always been an issue in America regarding where is being spent on and how much. That should not be a problem for the protection of an U. S. citizen. Everyone should be equally treated no matter the color, or background someone is from.
