General Data Survey Result ● 75 parents responded to the survey 91% completion assuming at least 1 guardian from each family participated ● 44% 1 st grade parents ● 56% kindergarten parents Insight/Takeaways ● We have a community that wants to be heard ● Kindergarten parents outpaced 1 st grade parents Next Steps/Recommendations ● Will conduct an end of year survey to gather feedback for next year planning

Current Communication -Website Survey Result -The following rated highly on Frequency, Satisfaction, Effectiveness ● ● 76% of respondents say they access the website “once in awhile” or “almost never. ” 60% of respondents say the website is “not effective, ” “slightly effective, ” or only “somewhat effective. ” 56% of respondents said they were “somewhat satisfied, ” “slightly satisfied, ” or “not at all satisfied. ” Although 75% of respondents said it was important that the website be an engaging destination that they look forward to exploring, only 20% felt it currently was. Insight/Takeaway ● The survey highlighted that the website is more a recruitment tool and not serving current families Next Steps/Recommendations/Addressed ● Completed audit and updates to current website - with a focus on the Our Families ● Exploration of Parent Communication Tool that will replace current Our Familes section

Current Communication -Email Survey Result Nearly all respondents said they rely on email to stay informed -- accessing email communication frequently, feel it’s very effective and are very satisfied. Nearly all respondents have access to Internet at home (93%) and/or work (72%) or have a smart phone (86%) – highlighting the importance of communication to be accessible on phone or online important. 93% of respondents said email is the best way to communicate to them (Spanish-speaking families also equally preferred a school letter) 81% of respondents said email is the most effective way for administration specifically to reach them (Spanish-speaking respondents equally preferred printed notes sent home) 85% of respondents said email is the preferred way for teachers to reach them. Top preferences for Spanish-speaking respondents was a phone call (100%) and email (66%). Insight/Takeaway ● Respondents feel email is best way to communicate Next Steps/Recommendations ● Weekly Digest Email - improved content, layout, priorities

Store all communications on google docs with meaningful titles for reference” ● “I just know that I get overwhelmed with such an abundance of information coming from so many differing sources. It's hard to keep up. ” ● “ I'd prefer to have all group communication in one place. Files, school communication, specific classroom communication, calendars all in one place. Maybe on Google? Then I can choose how much my email box is bombarded - with single messages, digest of messages or I go to the online board to check my messages or to look for specific files. I'd like emails from NSSF to be specific to urgent/emergency items. ” ● “Too many! Confusing and hard to keep up! It would be great if everything was centralized - if you could access all the tools from a central parent portal and if all the calendars were consolidated. ” ● “Emails are hard because there are so many and important information is often buried. Perhaps include a bulleted summary with important dates/events up top. ” ● “Fewer emails, more consolidation. ” ● “A central website for parents with all calendars and communications would be great.
