Starter Sidmouth College Fitness is defined as the ability to cope with the demands of the environment.
Components of fitness Sidmouth College Fitness is made up of different components, which allow you to be able to perform physical activity in different ways. Different skills and positions in football require different components of fitness.
What are the components of fitness? Sidmouth College Match up the component of fitness to the correct definition Flexibility Ability to hold a body part in a static position. Strength The ability to move and change direction quickly whilst maintain control. Cardiovascular endurance The ability to use two different parts of the body together smoothly and efficiently. Muscular endurance The maintenance of the centre of mass over the base of support. Balance The ability of muscles to undergo repeated contractions, avoiding fatigue. Agility The ability to overcome a resistance. Co-ordination Ability of heart and lungs to supply oxygen to the working muscles. Power The largest force possible in a single maximal contraction. Reaction Time Putting the body parts through actions as quickly as possible. Speed The time taken to initiate a response to a stimulus. Static Strength The range of movement possible at a joint Maximal strength Product of strength and speed, also known as explosive strength (anaerobic power).
