Part 1 (Due Friday, 9/14) ● ● Interview a person you consider to be family Cannot be an immediate family member Cannot be younger than 40 years old You will need to let this person know that what they share will NOT be kept a secret

Part I Continued. . . ● They must share a significant event that happened in their life ● What are 3 major impacts this event had on their life? ● Did this event bring them closer to home and family? Or did it take them away from home and family? (AKA - how did this impact affect home and family? )

Part II - Universal Thematic Statement Develop a universal thematic statement that reflects a connection between the information from the interview and anchor text/supplemental texts studied during this unit ● Make a connection between event and impacts with a text ● 3 pieces of evidence from interview and text ● Analysis of theme’s development

Part III - Presentation ● ● Digital/artistic oral presentation Cannot be an essay or slideshow Must be thematically connected Presents the event and impacts, thematic statement, and claim about how it affected home and family WITH evidence
