HL 7 International September 2019 Working Group Meeting, Atlanta Contact: timo. tarhonen@tietotarha. fi (designated rep), juha. mykkanen@thl. fi (chair) update National situation • Major national health services reform went down with the government – New government will alter the direction of the reform • New features in legislation for health IT delayed – focus on national services, mandatory requirements for systems, certification, self audits, secondary use • EHR and national services connectivity 100% in public services, in private services lots of new (big and small) service providers joining the national patient data repository • National initiatives (Kanta): >2, 7 billion CDA docs in national repositories HL 7 Finland situation – Membership 73 organizations (stable) – Active groups • • Technical committee IHE Finland Personal Health SIG HL 7 Finland Board – Monthly newsletter, frequent committee meetings – Popular training events: FHIR, CDA and IHE – Finnish participants in Montral and Atlanta WGMs + Amsterdam FHIR Dev. Days Projects and activities: – Implementation guides related to Kanta services (see left) – Kanta national patient data repository recent focus (CDA R 2 level 3 implementation guides): medication, dental records, optometry, scheduling – First deployments of national imaging health information exchange with IHE profiles have been successful – – Social services client data repository in production + expanding – Implementation phase: , new versions of national ”patient summary” IGs, emergency services, labs, referral / discharge, legacy pdf document exchange – – New SNOMED CT National Release Center in operation (THL) – Recent IHE and open. EHR surveys Finland in CEF / e. HDSI (e. Prescription phase 1): dispensation of Finnish presciprtions in Estonia and Croatia, expanding – Interest in FHIR Finance resources National PHR platform with FHIR in production, personal measurements linked to device manufacturer cloud services + available through national patient portal (but no connection to professionals’ systems until new law) A new HL 7 Fellow from Finland will be announced in Atlanta. . . ! – FHIR + IHE training and events / fall 2019, including visits by Grahame Grieve and Rene Spronk – Support project for national PHR specifications (FHIR) – FHIR personal device connectivity project – FHIR scheduling project (query and appointment booking functions) – Active voting in several international ballots
