The Metric System � The French created the Metric System to allow every country to understand one another's measurement by having the same unit to measure.
Treaty of the Meter � It created the three group of the Metric System. � BIPM � CGPM � CIPM
Standard meter in 1791 � The French Academy of Sciences decided in 1791 that the meter would be defined by the dimensions of the planet earth.
Standard Meter in 1983 � On October 20, 1983, the meter was officially redefined as the distance traveled by light in a vacuum during a time interval of 1/299, 792, 458 of a second.
Metric Act of 1866 � It stated that the Metric system was good effect that the U. S. decide to use it as the standard unit of measurement.
