History of Marian Catholic School was originally two schools: St Mary’s and Marist School Both of those school were begun by Religious sisters and brothers St Mary’s was started by MISSION sisters Marist School was started by MARIST brothers.
The Mission Sisters were started by Euphrasie Barbier 1829 - 1893 The Marist Brothers were started by Marcellin Champagnat 1789 -1840 Because they began the orders that started the two schools, they are the Foundation of our School.
What is a Charism? A charism is the special way we ‘live out’ the Gospel of Jesus. Each Monday morning at Liturgy, we listen to Sunday’s Gospel being read and then a teacher talks to us about what the Gospel means. We then listen to the Charism of the Week. That Charism is based on the message of the Gospel. Our School has developed our charism based on the message of the Gospel. We looked at the Charisms of the Mission Sisters and the Marist Brothers and joined them together to make our Marian Charism. LIVE CHRIST by being the Hands, Face and Voice of JESUS.
LIVE CHRIST is our MARIAN Charism how can be do that ? by being the Hands, Face and Voice of Jesus the four values we have chosen to Live this Charism are: LOVE FAITH COMMUNITY MISSION They are all actions e. g. LIVE LOVE
