OLD AGE AND MIDDLE AGE In these periods, there was a village called «Ad-Aras» in Almansa or nearby, but it isn´t known with certainty. � In 1294, thanks to Don Juan Manuel who gave some privileges to Almansa, this village got to be more important. � In 1476, the Catholic Monarchs decided to annex Almansa to the Kingdom of Castile. �
MODERN AGE Prince Felipe of France and the Archduke Charles of Austria wanted to accede to the thorne, and the War of Sucession started, in which the Battle of Almansa played an important role. Picture of the Museum of Almansa Battle
CONTEMPORARY AGE � Almansa is annexed with Albacete, being both part of Murcia region, until the moment in which the Autonomous Community of Castilla-La Mancha was created.
ALMANSA´S BATTLE Almansa´s Battle took place in 1707, due to the war of sucession. � Almansa´s Battle was divided into Four Allied Assaults. � Finally, the French counterpart surrendered. � The battle caused 7000 injured men and prisoners. �
