Add your company slogan Texas A&M: 1983 -1999 § Texas A&M did not have such a thing as a database. • This is quite understandable, given the times! § FAEIS data were in individual files. • A file consisted of a single program within a department, within a single college, and within a single university. • Hundreds of files per year, accumulating each year. • Eventually, a gigantic mound of files that had to be individually examined to create any enrollment table. § Y 2 K became an insurmountable issue for Texas A&M. • Their program for creating the files was not Y 2 K complaint. § Texas A&M officially ceased their support of FAEIS in late 1999.
