Histograms What are Histograms? Histograms vs Bar Graphs?
What are Histograms ? Histograms are a form of bar chart where the data represents continuous rather than discrete categories. This means that in a histogram there are no gaps between the columns representing the different categories. It is continuous. -both the x-axis and y-axis have a scale Intervals The height of each bar represents Frequency or the number of hours in that interval.
Bar Graph A bar graph has separate categories of data. ex. -Not continuous -Separate into categories. -Only Y-axis has scale

Invention Convention Suppose your group is trying to determine the best price range for the product you have developed. You have created a google form to survey people across the neighbourhood. Now you want to also determine what the age of the most popular price range is. How will you gather this data to create a histogram? 12 $25 20 $23 26 $9 41 $29 33 $16 17 $22 14 $31 27 $30 What will be the intervals? what will be the frequency? Since Histograms graph the FREQUENCY of DATA, this chart would make 2 Histograms -one for Price intervals -one for Age intervals 4 4 Frequency Price Point Frequency Age 2 0 9 -16 17 -24 25 -32 Price Interval ($) 12 -21 22 -31 32 -41 Age Interval (years old) We wouldn’t use a histogram to compare the two together.

What is the relationship between health & social problems and income inequality? What sort of graph is this?
Positive Correlation, Negative Correlation, No Correlation Positive Correlation: The correlation in the same direction is called positive correlation. If one variable increase other also increases and one variable decrease other also decrease. Negative Correlation: The correlation in opposite direction is called negative correlation, if one variable is increase other is decrease and vice versa No Correlation or Zero Correlation: If there is no relationship between the two variables such that the value of one variable change and the other variable remain constant is called no or zero correlation.
Deeper look at scatter plots Scatter Plots are graphs in which the values of two variables are plotted along two axes, the pattern of the resulting points revealing any correlation present.
