Hispanic Heritage Project 1 PUERTO RICO Our class will be learning about Puerto Rico during Hispanic Heritage month. We will be doing many activities in class, and students will also have a project to complete at home. This project should be done on a poster board. The following is the information that the students should research and have on their boards: • Flag • Coat of Arms • Map • Language • Religion • Capital • Education • National Symbol • Foods • Tourist Attractions • Taino Indians • Holidays *Students should write/type a few sentences about each of the topics listed above. All of the information should be in the student’s OWN WORDS. Students MUST have pictures of the following things on their board: The Flag, Coat of Arms, Map, Capital, Foods, and National Symbol. Students can add more pictures if they wish.
Hispanic Heritage Project 2 Students will do research on a famous person from Puerto Rico . This project should also be done on a poster board. There should be at least 3 pictures of the person the student has chosen to write about. The following information should be on the poster board: • • When and where was he/she born? What does he/she do for a living? What is he/she best known for? What are 5 interesting facts about him/her? _____________ Both projects are DUE on Wednesday, October 13. All of the information should be written in the student’s own words. Students should be prepared to present both projects in class. They will receive a grade for the project and a grade for their presentation.
