Hiring Trends Survey Summary Report 4 th Quarter 2010 Survey Statistics • In a 2010 fourth quarter prediction survey, Express Employment Professionals asked 9, 340 current and former clients in the U. S. and Canada about their hiring and recruiting plans. Here are the results: Survey Findings New hires made since April 2010: • • • 46% of respondents have hired for Administrative/Office Clerical positions. 41% hired for Commercial/Light Industrial positions. 21% hired each for Accounting/Finance and Marketing positions. Planned hires for 4 th Quarter 2010: • • 30% of respondents plan to hire for Commercial/Light Industrial positions. 28% plan to hire for Administrative/Office Clerical positions. 11% plan to hire each for Engineering and Marketing positions. 9% plan to hire each for Accounting/Finance and Information Technology positions. Current ease of recruiting and filling positions: • • • 52% currently believe it is "very easy" to "somewhat easy" to recruit and fill positions - a decrease of 5% from the previous quarter. 41% currently believe it is "somewhat difficult" to "very difficult" to recruit and fill positions - an increase of 8% over the previous quarter. Only 7% were unsure (answered “I don’t know”) - a 4% decrease from the previous quarter. Current trends when making a new hire Top 3 recruiting resources (rated as “excellent” and “good”): • • • Staffing Firms (66%) – an increase of 1% over the previous quarter. Employee Referrals (58%) – a decrease of 2% from the previous quarter. Online Job Boards (44%) – no change from the previous quarter. Top 3 aspects to have in a candidate (rated as “most important” and “important”): • • • Credible Work History (96%) – no change from the previous quarter. Job Experience (90%) – an increase of 1% over the previous quarter. Specific Skills (86%) – a decrease of 1% from the previous quarter. Current relationship with Express • • • 51% of respondents currently work with Express. 40% have previously worked with Express. 5% have had no previous relationship with Express.
