Professional ∙ Training ∙ Technology Why the Digital Media Academy? - Industry standard technology - Innovative & challenging career focused courses - Passionate instructors with industry experience - Internship Opportunities* - Opportunities to work with District professionals - Professional Experience while in high School - Project based learning - Specialty courses in digital media - Technical Experience *Student must complete competitive application process to enroll Program Requirements/ Expectations - Complete 6 Arts, Audio/Video (A/V) and Communications credits in a coherent sequence as identified by the Digital Media Academy pathway on the campus. Application Process - Submit online application @ www. fortbendisd. com/academies - Recommended that students complete Algebra I prior to the start of their ninth grade year - Successful completion of all parts of the 7 th grade STAAR exam - 7 th and 8 th grade semester grades in math, science, ELA and social studies - Interview/ Presentation - Final acceptance is contingent upon successful completion of all eighth grade courses during the regular school year and all parts of the eighth grade STAAR exam. Past Enrichment Opportunities - Tour KHOU television station - Showcase film/movies at local movie theater - Tour collegiate communications and digital media programs - Participate in special projects for District promotion
