Universities • Funded by the French Government; open to all students; assessments taking place

Universities • Funded by the French Government; open to all students; assessments taking place throughout the curriculum and final examinations. • Students are granted national diplomas (licence, master, doctorate) and universities’ diplomas of very high quality. • Offer various types of education (short, long; professionally oriented courses; lifelong learning, etc. ) in various disciplines (law, economics, accountancy, management, arts, litterature, humanities, medical sciences, technology, etc. )

The « Grandes Ecoles » and specialised schools or institutes ü The « Grandes Ecoles » : • schools of engineering, schools of business and management and schools of political sciences and administration. • Very selective : admission based on examination’s results after 2 years in prep school or evaluation of the application (with selection) after 2, 3 or 4 years in higher education. ü Specialised Schools and Institutes: • offer programs in specific fields (art, architecture, paramedical studies, journalism, audiovisual…) • offer government-sanctioned diplomas or degrees that are specific to the granting institution.
