HEUG: AN INTRODUCTION
OVERVIEW • The Higher Education User Group (HEUG) is an international organization consisting of higher education institutions that use application software from Oracle. • Represents hundreds of member institutions and over 23, 000 individuals across the globe. • Includes a wide range of institutions.
MISSION • To educate and advocate by facilitating the sharing of ideas, information and experiences among its members. • To provide a unified and effective voice to Oracle on all issues involving the use of Oracle application software in the Higher Education community. • The HEUG achieves their purposes while remaining independent of Oracle.
HEUG HIGHLIGHTS • Representing over 34 countries across 6 continents • Over 23, 000 users from over 900 campuses • Sixteen Advisory Groups (AGs) composed of representatives from HEUG member institutions with expertise in various product modules of the Oracle application software • Worldwide Regional Communities • Annual and Regional Conferences throughout the world • 20+ Educational Webinars provided to users each year
HEUG BOARD OF DIRECTORS • Governed by a Board of Directors. • The Board consists of fifteen Directors elected by the HEUG membership. • Directors appointed by the HEUG President: • • • Vice President for Communications and Membership Vice President for Community Development Vice President for Products Vice President for Technology Secretary Vice President Finance/Treasurer
HEUG BOARD OF DIRECTORS • The Board is responsible for overseeing and approving nominations of members to the various Advisory Groups (PAs) and the Technical Advisory Group (TAG). • The Board also establishes a number of committees and working groups to address specific issues.

CONTINUED GOALS • Enhance the HEUG’s support for communication, collaboration and education across the entire HEUG ecosystem • Strengthen the HEUG’s effectiveness in its advocacy role • Increase HEUG member engagement and satisfaction • Ensure HEUG’s continued organizational and financial health
HEUG ADVISORY GROUPS • The Advisory Groups are composed of representatives from HEUG member institutions with expertise in various product modules and technical areas within the world of Oracle application software. • Facilitating communication about specific product features, problems, and opportunities. • Soliciting feedback from the user community, synthesizing that feedback, and conveying it to Oracle product strategists and developers. • Advocating to Oracle, on behalf of the user community, for enhancements, new functionality, and resolutions to problems. • Administering the relevant track(s) at the annual Alliance conference (i. e. , soliciting, evaluating and selecting proposals, scheduling sessions, collecting feedback, etc. )

ALLIANCE ANNUAL CONFERENCE • 20 th anniversary • Monday, February 27 th to Thursday, March 2 nd. • The largest meeting of Higher Education and Public Sector users of Oracle Applications in the world. • Theme: Advocate, Collaborate, Educate
ALLIANCE ANNUAL CONFERENCE • Educational sessions/workshops are presented by users, Oracle strategists and developers, and vendors. • Senior-level Oracle executives present roadmap sessions to provide information about the future direction of their applications. • ‘Meet the Experts’ sessions are held for attendees to discuss issues directly with Oracle strategists and developers for their business needs. • Exhibit Hall provides the ability to meet multiple vendors, see product demos, and discuss service offerings in a variety of areas. • Networking opportunities are available during ‘Stop and Share’ session.
