Henry John Yeend King nasceu em Londres em 21 de agosto de 1855. Trabalhou durante três anos como pintor de vidro antes de estudar com o artista vitoriano William Bromley. Sua arte floresceu realmente, quando se mudou para Paris para estudar com Lein Bonnat e Fernand Cormon. Em 1885, escreveu e ilustrou um artigo para uma Revista de Arte, intitulado "A Volta da França", uma escrita pictórica e turística da Bretanha rural. Entre os anos 1874 e 1924 expôs na “Royal Academy”, na “Royal Society of British Artists” (Suffolk Street), na Nova Sociedade de Aquarela, na “Grosvenor Gallery” e outros locais. Em 1879 Henry tornou-se membro da “Royal Society of British Artists” e em 1881 casou-se com Edith Lilian Atkinson, com quem teve uma filha, Lílian. Em 1886 foi eleito para o “Instituto Real de Pintores em Aquarelas”, tornando-se mais tarde seu vice-presidente. Seu trabalho retrata cenas de paisagem rústica, bem como as mais fantasiosas cenas de jardins com belas mulheres, muitas vezes usando sua filha como modelo. Participou de cerca de 200 exposições na Inglaterra, Munique e Berlim, bem como da Exposição Internacional de Paris, em 1889, na qual ganhou a medalha de bronze. Henry King viveu em Londres, onde morreu em 10 de junho de 1924.
