Hello: • My name is Amanda Townsend and I will be your child’s teacher for the academic year 20202021 • I have currently been working at Mayfield for the past seven years. Throughout my time here I have worked with a range of students of different ages and with a variety of complex needs including ASC. • Our Class name is Yellow class and we will be based at the Heathfield Road. • To support your children we also have Rabia Ahmed, Kerry Jones and Norreen Rehman. • One of the teaching assistants will be your child’s keyworker and we look forward to meeting you all in September.

Your Child’s curriculum: This year we will be introducing our new Get Real Curriculum which we have been working hard on over the past year to make sure it the curriculum is right for our students. The curriculum will be split into four strands which include: Functional Skills (Maths, Science, IT) Physical Development & Wellbeing English &Communication Social & Emotional Development & Wellbeing

Communication between School and Home: • • We believe that communication between home and school is vital so please communicate with us to let us know how your child is and if there is anything that you might need help with If you have any concerns that you would like to share please contact myself or one of the class team.
