Hello everyone! It’s Miss White here. I hope you are all ok and enjoying all the fantastic home learning that you are being given. Every Friday, I will be giving you a RE home learning task. Make sure you check the RE home learning page next week for a competition! Did you clap for our carers last night? It was wonderful to stand on my doorstep and hear all the claps, cheers and whistles to pay tribute to the efforts of NHS and key workers during this difficult time. Next Thursday, at 8 pm, it would be amazing if the whole of our school family was clapping for our carers together.

As part of KS 2’s RE learning in February, we held a ‘Wear Blue for a Loo’ day. It seems such a long time ago now but I can still taste all those delicious cakes that were bought in. I was so proud of how much you raised – over £ 480! This enabled our school to twin a whole school toilet block and 2 toilets in 3 of the poorest countries in the world. Our donation also gave many families access to clean water and vital education on the importance of handwashing and good hygiene.

With the money we raised, we twinned our toilets with Malawi, Uganda and The Democratic Republic of Congo. Here are our certificates….

If you look carefully, you can see the longitude and latitude of our twinned toilets. Can you use Google maps or Google Earth to locate exactly where our twinned toilets are? Remember to type in the longitude and latitude exactly as you see them, including the minus symbol. Did you find them? Now you know where our 3 twinned toilets are, I would like you to create a fact file on one of the countries they are located in. It is up to you what you include in your fact file but here are some suggestions for you: • A map showing where our twinned toilet is located • National flag • Population • Landmarks (natural or man made) • Animals or plants native to the country • Major religion

I would like to use your fact files for a display so make them as interesting and colourful as you possibly can. You can even use…… wait for it KS 2………. felt tip pens! I would love to see your completed fact files and even put them on next weeks Power. Point.
