Hebrews 12: 5 -11 5 And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son?

Hebrews 12: 5 -11 It says, “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, 6 because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son. ”

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. (Ephesians 6: 4 ) Discipline (paideia) refers to the systematic training of sons and daughters in order to bring them to maturity.

But God’s discipline is always good for us, so that we might share in His holiness. 11 No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.
