Heaven and Hell Heaven Welcome

Romans 8: 35: “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? ” A few verses later, in v 38 -39, Paul says: “ 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. ” Not only will death not separate us from Christ, for the Christian it will actually usher us into His presence!

Genesis 1: 1: ‘In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. ’ Genesis 1: 6 -8: “ 6 And God said, ‘Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water. ’ 7 So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. 8 God called the expanse ‘sky’. And there was evening, and there was morning – the second day. ”

2 Corinthians 12: 2: “I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven. Whether it was in the body or out of the body I do not know – God knows. ” This is the place where God dwells and where we will see Him face to face. Deuteronomy 26: 15: “Look down from heaven, your holy dwelling-place, and bless your people Israel and the land you have given us as you promised on oath to our ancestors, a land flowing with milk and honey. ”

2 Chronicles 6: 21: “Hear the supplications of your servant and of your people Israel when they pray towards this place. Hear from heaven, your dwellingplace; and when you hear, forgive. ” Revelation 13: 6: “It opened its mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling-place and those who live in heaven. ” The fact that God is willing to share His holy dwelling place is a marvellous concept – none of us deserves to be there apart from the blood of Jesus.

Psalm 11: 4: “The Lord is in his holy temple; the Lord is on his heavenly throne. He observes everyone on earth; his eyes examine them. ” Acts 17: 24: “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. ” Daniel 4: 34 -35: “His dominion is an eternal dominion; his kingdom endures from generation to generation. 35 All the peoples of the earth are regarded as nothing. He does as he pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples of the earth. No one can hold back his hand or say to him: ‘What have you done? ’”

Psalm 33: 13 -15 reminds us of God’s knowledge of all mankind: “ 13 From heaven the Lord looks down and sees all mankind; 14 from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth - 15 he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do. ” Mark 1: 10 -11: “ 10 Just as Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. 11 And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased. ””

John 6: 38: “For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of Him who sent me. ” Luke 24: 51: “While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven. ” Colossians 3: 1: “ Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. ” Hebrews 9: 24: “For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made with human hands that was only a copy of the true one; he entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God’s presence. ”

Luke 23: 43, "I tell you the truth, this day you will be with me in Paradise. " Philippians 1: 21: “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. " v 23: “I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far. ” Paul fully expected to be in the presence of Jesus when he died.

Ephesians 4: 8: "This is why it says, 'When He ascended on high, He led captives in His train and gave gifts to men. '" Hebrews 12: 22 -24: “ 22 But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, 23 to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, 24 to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel. ”

Matthew 25: 31 -34: “ 31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. 34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. ”

Romans 6: 23: “ 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. ” 1 Peter 1: 3 -5: “ 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, 5 who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. ”

1 Thessalonians 4: 13 -18: “ 13 Brothers, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words. ”

1 Corinthians 15: 50 -54: “ 50 I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed - 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory. ”

1 Corinthians 15: 42 -44: “ 42 So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43 it is sown in dishonour, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. ” The prospect that we will be raised – for eternity – in glory and power is beyond our understanding.

Philippians 3: 20 -21: ” 20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Saviour from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body. ” Note that our citizenship is in heaven – we belong there! The only passport needed to get there is the blood of Jesus.

John 14: 1 -3 that He was going to prepare a place for us: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. ”

Revelation 19: 5 -7: “ 5 Then a voice came from the throne, saying: “Praise our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, both great and small!” 6 Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: “Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. 7 Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. ”

Philippians 2: 9 -11: “Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. ” Even unbelievers will bow the knee at the final judgement, for they will acknowledge the truth of who Jesus is.

Revelation 7: 9 -14: “ 9 After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. 10 And they cried out in a loud voice: “Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb. ” 11 All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before throne and worshipped God, 12 saying: “Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honour and power and strength be to our God forever and ever. Amen!” 13 Then one of the elders asked me, “These in white robes - who are they, and where did they come from? ” 14 I answered, “Sir, you know. ” And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. ”

Revelation 22: 5: “Therefore, “they are before throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence. ” Revelation 22: 3 that we will be serving God: “No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. ”

John 17: 24: “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. ” Luke 10: 20: “However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven. ”
