OVERVIEW Not-for-profit healthcare system based in northern Virginia that serves the greater Washington DC metro area Founded in 1956 in Fairfax, VA Includes the areas only Level 1 Trauma Center and Level IV neonatal intensive care unit Currently comprised of 5 hospitals Alexandria, Loudoun, Mount Vernon, Fairfax, Fair Oaks Over 1, 700 licensed beds and 16, 000 employees
