Song Brown Funding agency: Office of Statewide Health Planning & Development Two grants: Capitation & Special Projects Capitation grant Award Amount: $40, 000 for 2 years Allowed for 4, under-represented minorities, economically disadvantaged students to be in RN program. Supports adjunct instructors, off-set a portion of Simulation Coordinator Special Project grant Award Amount: $85, 000 Admit under represented minorities and economically disadvantaged into nursing program and educate them on transfer opportunities and dual enrollment in BSN programs at four year universities Hired two Transfer Counselors # of Students Received One-on-One Counseling: 43 Transfer Fair – 120 students in attendance; included participation from: CSUDH, CSULA, CSULB, CSUF, CSUSM, Vanguard, National, Chamberlain, West Coast, Grand Canyon, Azusa Pacific Concurrent Enrollment: 9 students enrolled concurrently at: CSUDH, CSULA and CSULB

Program goal is to assist each graduate to seek employment in LA County health facilities. Funded tutors, intersession workshops, Family Night, guest speakers, NCLEXRN in person review course and other student success strategies.

Remediation and Retention for Associate Degree (RN) Programs Funded by California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office Award Amount: $171, 000 To increase nursing student retention/student success for pre-nursing and current nursing students. Funds our Nursing Success Advisor—any student who is not passing theory or clinic are referred to her for early intervention (this is called our Early Alert system) Partially off-set Simulation Technician Supported Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) # of Students who took TEAS: 52 # of Students Remediated: 38 Provided Student Success Workshops: “Test Taking Skills, ” “Time Management, ” and Smoothies for Success.

LAH 3 C Funded by Department of Labor TAACCCT grant Award amount: $976, 891 (2013 -2017) District-wide, includes all 9 colleges, LATTC is lead college Four courses have been created and they make-up a credential program: Health Occupations: 62, 63, 64, 65 Offered HOC 62, 63, & 64 over the summer; All being offered in the Fall 2015 Includes Digital Badges Self-Assessment tool available and being offered: Spher. It Created two Certificate of Achievements: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) & Certified Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aide (CNA –HHA) – being vetted @ District now. Goals: Participants Served: 742 Enrollments: 521 Program Completers: 269 Job Placements: 269 Placements in Continuing Higher Ed: 233
