Mandatory Health Insurance • Health insurance is mandatory for all Pace University students. All students are automatically charged a fee for health insurance in their student bills. • Students may find a copy of the “Pace University International Student Accident and Sickness Insurance” here: – http: //www. pace. edu/health-insurance/sites/pace. edu. healthinsurance/files/Files/International%20 Brochure%202013 -14. pdf
Waivers • Pace University will consider waiving (removing) the fee for Health Insurance only if the student demonstrates coverage under another insurance policy, whose coverage is determined to be equal to or better than the coverage provided under the University’s policy (as specified in the brochure). – Note: The non-University insurance policy would not necessarily provide coverage for Emergency Medical Evacuation and Repatriation of Remains. However, by signing a waiver form, the student acknowledges their understanding and acceptance that – in cases where the student waives University health insurance for a policy that does not cover Emergency Medical Evacuation and Repatriation of Remains – the student alone (not the University) will be solely and exclusively responsible for any and all such expenses. • Waiver forms are available here: http: //www. pace. edu/healthinsurance/sites/pace. edu. healthinsurance/files/Pace%20 International%20 Waiver%201314. pdf

In Case of Emergency • In case of an emergency, students should go to their nearest hospital or healthcare location! • If at all possible, in a non-emergency situation, it is best for students to go first to Pace University’s Health Care Center. • If the student is not in the area, it is recommended that the student search for a healthcare center which is covered by the student’s University insurance (use the “Search for Provider” function on https: //www. uhcsr. com/pace).
Pace University Health Care Center • The University Health Care Center is able to provide students with basic care, as well as to provide referrals if the student requires additional treatment not offered by the Health Care Center. • The Health Care Center is located at 41 Park Row on the 3 rd Floor and may be reached by telephone at (212) 346 -1600.
