# Regulations at Hasselt University • All non-EU students are enrolled into CM as well as SIP (Student Insurance Program) • First costs will be reimbursed through CM, the patient fee (if necessary) via SIP • Mr. Didier Verding will first explain CM, afterwards Marc Thoelen will tell more about SIP.

# Why you need insurance • Cover for all kinds of expensive medical treatments in the hospital. • Eg. in case of accident

# How are you insured as a student? We insure you as “resident in Belgium”. Condition : - Address in Belgium (send a copy of your Belgian E-id to our email address) Benefits: - No legal fee (only small payment for membership) - High refund of your medical expenses - VT-status (highest possible refund)

# VT-status IF - Address in Belgium (received Belgian ID card) AND - Your income stays below € 19. 957, 16 (+ 3, 694, 61 per dependent) Important : - All income counts (even your income abroad and studentjobs) - If you live with other persons, their income counts aswell

# How to get VT-Status - You send me a copy of your Belgian E-id - I enroll you into the Belgian Healthcare - I send you the documents to apply for VT-Status (in your email account if known) - You sign the application and send it back + pay slips (if necessary) Every 2 years you will have to renew the VTStatus, CM will contact you aproximately 6 months before end of benefit!

# Benefits of the VT-Status - Highest possible refund E. g. you pay € 27, 00 at doctor, refund is € 25, 28 normal refund is € 20, 78 - Price reduction for public transport All documents will be sent to your home address (eg. yellow stickers, paper for reduction public transport)

# Insurancedocuments, some examples When going to a family doctor: - You receive an e-attest (= prove of payment) - You have VT-Status - You just pay the patient fee - You don’t have VT-status - You pay the full amount - health insurance automatically pays back - You don’t have to bring any papers to the insurance

# Insurancedocuments, some examples When going to a specialist: if you pay the fee, the doctor will give you this bill. You have to put a yellow ID-sticker on top of the bill. You put your bill in our mailbox (see website for addresses) If you need a paper for SIP, send us an email to get the receipt after you received your refund (students. limburg@cm. be) or make an account on our website (www. cm. be).
