Video Genie ( Surveillance Application) Currently Ubiquitous Video Surveillance Systems(VSVs) gives us the opportunity to have a look “how software application can be design based upon existing popular VSVs. “ Question Remains • What kind of application and its usability? • How to design such application? Video Genie ( Movement Based Tracking) Before we move further, let us have glimpse of the usability of the proposed application. Other areas of usability includes (but not limited to) could be • Movement monitoring for sensitive areas like Banks locker, Diamond chest etc. • Which part of a large premises are least needed for video surveillance? or if at all an important object like a security guard is not present for time duration. 3

Video Genie ( What we are talking about? ) 1. We are talking about an software application which will leverage existing video surveillance system by means of movement tracking. 2. It will triggers alerts like SMS to concerned authority like a Bank branch manager who is not expecting an movement before bank locker after let’s say 11 PM. He could get a photo or live video-stream in his smart phone of the activity that is going on at the concerned site. 3. It will generate reports like where foot prints(movements) are high or low and based upon that a surveillance admin can optimize his resources. As an example he may wish to off few cameras in those area that is not needed in day time. 4. Or such reports can be useful in a shopping mall to decide where to put advertisement hoardings by knowing in which areas customer goes most or a retailer can get a real time information about “For which area his customer are not getting attracted” 4
