Relations Amanda George Washington Cover and I are similar in a sense that want to use science to help people. George used agricultural science to help people in the south to farm better crops. I however will be using psychology to help children with disabilities live better lives using my Social Work Degree. He has inspired me to be confident when faced with a problem to continue to come up with unique and creative solutions to the problem. I have even created a map to show where I want my education to take me. Though we are more than fifty years apart I believe that it takes creative minds to solve even the most complex problems. George was a highly sought after scientist who was able to create hundreds of things with a simple nut. He knew what could grow in the soils of the southern United States. He was able to then invent several uses for
the crop that would grow in these places, many of which we still use today. I will be using science to understand help children who need help, by studying the science of psychology. I can learn about the many disorders of the mind and I can adapt to the needs that are met for those who are affected by these disorders. Carver has helped me realize that no matter what you go through in life if you keep thinking outside the box you can find a solution to any problem. In finding out about him and what he had been through has helped me learn to come up with solutions to a problem even if I don’t have one right a way to still keep trying various ideas until one works. I have learned that being able to think creatively is very important in college and will help to secure a rewarding and successful career.
If this was the only school which had the program I was going in to I would go in to a different program. There is no use fighting for something that a person has very little knowledge of. I have other fields of interest which I would excel at such as cooking, music, and writing. If could not be a chef I could be writer or an English teacher. George Washington Carver did switch majors but that was out of encouragement from an instructor. It had nothing to do with his skin color. Even so it was a step in the right direction for him. He did what he should have done. Instead of fighting to go to a school which was rejecting him. He went to a school which would allow him to see where his potential lie I have created a three dimensional picture to show where I will be taking my education for the next two years. I have started at the Salt Lake Community College Redwood Road campus. This is where I will
I will then travel the Salt lake Community College South City campus were I will be taking of the required classes for the social work degree. All of these areas helped George Washington Carver too become an extraordinary scientist and inventor but they have made him a better man. I hope that these traits that we have in common will help me as much as they helped him. I am persistent and creative just like he was.
Relations Brian George Washington Carver has done something my little brother and I appreciate greatly, he invented peanut butter. This is not the only way this man and I are connected. He and I love to create. He invented several thing that can be useful in the field of cooking which is what I plan to study. He and I both try to think outside the box to come up with even more solutions. I thank him for showing me that it does not matter where you get your education, what matters is what you do with it. I can prove what I will do with mine
Carver was a not only a brilliant botanist but inventor. He created many not only invented dyes and ink using peanuts and sweet potatoes. He also created several cooking oils that are still used today. I will be using these oils in some the dishes I will be creating in the future. I could very well be using his signature invention of peanut butter in a future pastry. Carver had a very creative mind. He was able to come up with over 300 products using a simple peanut. I usually try to come up with solutions to various problems. At one point in my life I was the
personal psychiatrist to all of my friends. I was able to think of a way to fix all their problems. I have been inspired by this man. He was able to find an education in something that interested him. Then use the knowledge that he accumulated in college to change the world forever. I am going into a field which will always be in high demand. People will always need to eat and will always want to eat something delicious. I have created a road map which will show where I plan to take my education just as George Washington Carver took his.
I will finish my general education at the Salt Lake Community College Redwood Road campus. I will then make three long bus rides to the Salt Lake Community College Larry Miller campus to start taking all the classes necessary to get an Associates of Applied Technology degree in culinary arts. After I graduate I will straighten my skills in the field. George Washington Carver was a man who did what he had to do to get the education he knew that he deserved. I know that this was a man of undying will and great creativity. I hope that I will have striven to be as creative as Carver.
Relations Sarah George Washington Carver had a hard life from the very beginning. Much like I did. He became separated from his slave mother at a young age , after his master sent him to another state during the Civil War. When I was younger until I became an adult I was separated from my mother for many different reasons just like George Carver. Even though I sometimes felt alone or abandoned being away from my mother I still had other family that I could count on, so I can completely understand how hard it must have been for him. Especially not only being away from his mother but
because I also faced a lot of abuse as a child up until my teen years. As time went on and I was able to realize that none of the things that happened to me were not my fault I think that It became a lot better for me to deal with and move on. Now that I have gotten older and that I have an AMAZING daughter I have a lot of perseverance and determination to become the best version of myself. I want to be present in her life entirely and be a good example for her to look up to. Realizing how important it is to set the standard I have decided to go back to school so that I can give her the best life that she can have and that she deserves.
One thing that I loved about George Washington Carver is that he is very innovative and how he came up with so many options and uses for one single thing. I feel like I am similar to him in that way because I tend to find many different ways to use something when it typically is only made for one use.
Relations Marcelo George Washington Carver was a fascinating person, he always wanted to be a educated person although in that period of time, the racial segregation was a very important factor. He start his road of success since he was a children because he was a person with limited economic resources but his dreams and objectives were bigger than the money. A strong realtion that I have with him is the mutual interest in botanical sciences and works with plants and seed, I really like to grow fruits and vegetables.
George Washington Carver have strong desires and one of his derires was to help to the people from the south and he get it, he was an excellent scientific and botanic, through his knowledge he created many products made from peanut. This increased the economy for his community and aided nutrition for farm families. Another important thing that I learned and I admire from George Washington Carver was his perseverance. We know the racism that black people suffered in that age but it was not an obstacle for George Washington Carver to follow his dreams of have a good education. Fron his early years,
he always wanted to study botanic and sciences but black people had not the right for go to school, they had not any right but George Washington Carver fight against this social problem. He was recognized a lot from newspapers, organizations, universities and the government, a great honor for a person victim of racism. I could learn a lot from George Washington, he was a innovative person with good ideas. Like he used to said: “Where there is no vision, there is no hope” and he really demonstrate it IS worth his labor starting from a vision of personal improvement and disinterested wish to help to the others.
