LO: I can solve a problem by calculating fractions of amounts
28 I was so impressed with your fracion work yesterday! Can you solve this? There are 28 in TOTAL. Can you tell me what ¾ of 28 are?
28 7 7 7 There are 28 in TOTAL. 28 ÷ 4 = 7 7 x 3 = 21 7
In this tube, there are 36 smarties in total. I’m going to give you the fraction of each colour and you need to work out how many of each there are. For example: If I was to tell you that ½ (half) the smarties were red. Your calculation would be 36 ÷ 2 That was just an example!
2/9 are red 3/36 are yellow 1/4 are green 1/6 are blue 36 in total! 5/18 are pink
Answers on the next slide. . .
9 are green 8 are red 3 are yellow 6 are blue 10 are pink

Playscripts
LO: I can plan a play script
So, we have learnt the features, looked at some examples, practised adding dialogue and stage directions, now it is your turn to be creative!
Today, plan your own play script so that tomorrow you can write your own. It can be as long or as short as you like, and about whatever you like. . . just have ago!
Some ideas… ● A fairy tale to write a play script about ● Your favourite book characters ● A trip with your family ● A time in school ● A holiday
Let’s get planning. . . Characters: The more characters you have, the more you have to write. I would stick to 4 maximum. Setting: Keep this brief. Where are your characters? In a car, on a beach, a house, forest? What happens and how many scenes? You can write just one scene if you like or a few short scenes… up to you! On the website there is a planning sheet if you'd like to use it, if not, then just create some thought boxes as I have done and jot your ideas down! A plan is only initial ideas so do not worry if you change it along the way!
