Haunted Halloween Word Cards with Movement Activities CVC, Glued sounds AM, AN (real and nonsense words) *Editable for your own word card needs! *Play in-person or on-line 3 different ways Online: Option # 1: Haunted Word Cards 1. Pin your video and use the spotlight feature so students see you big too. 2. Hold the cards up to the video as students read them for fluency practice (extra: Use a fun Halloween bucket to pull cards from) 3. Add in bonus cards for points, lose a turn, extra turn, lose all your cards etc or movement *SEE SUGGESTIONS AT THE END OF THE LESSON* Option 2: Tic Tac Toe 1. Print out the 3 X 3 cards as a pdf and place under the document camera for a tic-tac–toe game or load as pdf on a collaborative white board. 2. Students can use zoom tools or fun Emojis to choose their spot after they read the word.

Extensions and Online suggestions Option 3: Memory 1. Print out two sets or match based on matching glued sound cards 2. Play memory by matching a rule. In this game, my students found two words with the “an” ending they got a match 3. Students can use zoom tools to annotate or use fun stamps 4. Add in bonus cards with movement or other suggestions; lose a turn, extra turn etc. In-Person: Everything I do in person I make sure I can also do online and vice versa. I am a big believer in getting kids up and moving around, especially online. A lot of my students have dyslexia, ADHD, or early literacy needs. They need to move to keep their brain activated and stay motivated. We all need a break from the screen.
