Introduction Hand washing is the single most effective method used to prevent the spread of all infectious disease. Common areas in the classroom such as door handles, cabinet pulls, desks, chairs, tables, markers, and computers are likely places to spread germs and bacteria like common cold, flu, E. Coli and several gastrointestinal disorders, such as infectious diarrhea. If you don't wash your hands frequently enough, you can infect yourself with these germs by touching your eyes, nose or mouth. And you can spread these germs to others by touching them or by touching surfaces that they also touch, such as doorknobs. Good hand washing can prevent the spread of these germs and bacteria.
