Student Expectations • Respect others and their property. • Take responsibility for your actions.

Student Expectations • Respect others and their property. • Take responsibility for your actions. • Come prepared to class – do your homework! • Listen to directions. Follow them the first time they are given.

Discipline System • Blue Card: Child starts on blue card for day and stays

Discipline System • Blue Card: Child starts on blue card for day and stays on blue even after one verbal warning. • Green Card: After a second verbal warning, the child is asked to turn the card to green. The child maybe removed from group/activity and asked to work independently.

Discipline System • Yellow Card: Child is asked to switch card to yellow after

Discipline System • Yellow Card: Child is asked to switch card to yellow after another warning. • A note will be sent home explaining his/her actions. It will be signed by both student and teacher. • Parents will also need to sign note to be returned the next day

Discipline System • Red Card: Child is asked to switch card to red after this warning. • Parents will receive a note or phone call home that day. • Child will discuss his/her choices with Dr. Hall. • The child may be asked to write an apology note depending on the circumstance.

These students will be given another set of Challenge Words to be studied for the week. They will be responsible for knowing them on Friday’s Test. • Students work on spelling and phonics activities throughout the week • Weekly spelling test on Friday of Priority and Challenge Words

Homework • Homework is assigned Monday through Thursday. • There is no homework on Fridays! • Homework should take no more than thirty minutes each evening, with ten to fifteen of those minutes used for reading. • If an assignment is late, a reminder note will be sent home (usually in the Assignment Notebook) • Two missed assignments will be allowed per month. If more then two are missed, a student will make up the missed assignments during an end of month study hall. • Students who have only missed one or less assignments may receive an extra end of month recess.

Snack • Allergy Aware classroom, Be aware some students in our room are allergic to peanuts and tree nuts. • Your child will eat snack in the afternoon. • Healthy foods are encouraged! • Your child also will be allowed to keep a water bottle on his/her desk through out the day.

Weekly Newsletter Our class newsletter will contain the goals and lessons to be covered in the next week of school It will also have any important dates and changes with a quick ”note” to parents. I will be sending out the Newsletter via email every Friday. If you ever do not receive one please let me know.
