A Sense of the Divine n n 26 times in 38 verses. To people like us. So carried away with everyday life they forgot the Divine. Build the temple – but there are so many other things to occupy our time and energy. We’re trying to build a church, and life gets in the way.

Procrastination n n n 1: 2 There’s no urgency, plenty of time. I’ll talk to them of God “tomorrow”. I’ll restore the erring “tomorrow”. It’s such a huge project. I’m not sure how to begin, so I’ll begin “tomorrow”. It never gets done.

Materialism n n n 1: 4 “Paneled”, “well ceiled” houses. Me first. God doesn’t need a house as much as I do. When is it His turn? “Consider your ways!” No blessing for us.

Unwise Comparison n n A new problem – 2: 3 I remember when a dozen people were baptized during a gospel meeting. Great grandfather and Anita’s grandmother. I remember when interest was so great. I remember when this building was built. Do the work, leave the results to God – vs. 7 -9.

False Security in “Religion” n n The new temple isn’t a good luck charm – 2: 11 -16 God destroyed the first temple thru the Babylonians. WHY? Will He spare this one if the people abandon Him? Be true to our purpose.
