Cowboys and Indians When asked where you are from in other countries and you say the United States of America, most people think of Cowboys and gun shoot outs. Over the past century Americans have become known for their gun obsession whether as a sport, self defense, or as a criminal, but guns have been on the rise since the 1970 s.
Since 1982 the number of mass shootings has increased. We all remember the most televised mass shootings, Virginia Tech, Columbine, Aurora movie theater, and of course the most recent Newton, CT elementary school. Although this are all very devastating the number of guns sold after mass shootings are always on the rise, people are concerned that they will be banned. Guns are there for self defense not to go on a killing rampage. Guns do not kill people kill. Our society has grown so afraid of guns but without them we will still have mass killings, look at 911. Our whole culture as we knew it had been uplifted and in a blink of an eye everything had changed. So whether its through guns or anything else, people will find a way to kill in anything not just GUNS.

Gangs What we know to be gang affiliated killings usually involves a gun, but what we just assume is that those are the only real types of murders. Gangs only make up a percentage of people killed by guns, there is domestic abuse, accidental trigger pulled, suicides, accidents, and of course homicide. We as Americans live in a very naïve state of mind that if they show up murdered by a gun its usually that related to a gang, especially if it is in a particular part of town. Statistically they are not the ones we need to be afraid of its our neighbors that we should wonder about, who can we really trust anymore?

America’s Hunters To some this is of bad taste and unsanitary, but what’s better than your own catch, and to be able to live off what you kill, grow, and feed on your land. Some may think its inhumane to kill to eat but how do they think that pig turned to bacon, or that cow to a double cheeseburger. Again I say Americans are naïve and only see what they want to see. In certain states, cities, counties, and back roads we as Americans live off of the land. We survive on the catch, fish, deer, elk, bear, whatever is permitted that season. Our freedoms are also our way of survival for some.
The first American Gun : The Canon Americans first gun dates back to the canon. America started with guns and will hopefully end protecting our great homeland. As Americans we are associated with our guns and the NRA. Regardless of how it effects our daily lives it all comes down to our historians and what they believed to be our amendments. We will die fighting for those amendments.
