Mobile Crisis Outreach Team Goals: • MCOT is a clinically staffed mobile treatment team that is available 24/7, 365 days a year to provide face to face help to adults who are at risk of harm to self or others • MCOT can respond to mental health crises anywhere in Brazoria & Galveston Counties • Crisis interventions and referrals for crisis stabilization including inpatient psychiatric and outpatient mental health services • Crisis respite • Successful linkage to long term care. 4
Who Do We Serve with Crisis Services? • We serve any person in our catchment area who is in a mental health crisis, including patients who are: • In a mental health crisis but unable or initially unwilling to access services through traditional psychiatric outpatient. • At-risk for hospitalization without immediate intervention. • Not in acute crisis but in need of outreach services to prevent further deterioration and to ensure linkage to appropriate services and community services. 5
IDD Crisis Services & IDD Crisis Respite ● Each community center has a IDD “Crisis Intervention Specialist” to provide specialized crisis services to IDD individuals in crisis and their families. ● Crisis in this sense is any severe behavior disturbance that jeopardizes an individual’s safety or current living arrangement. ● Crisis Intervention Specialist can access tele-psychiatry services ● Crisis Intervention Specialist can access IDD crisis respite services for crisis resolution. ● The Crisis Intervention Specialist also works with the individual’s service coordinator, care providers and family on crisis prevention strategies to promote the individual’s coping skills to avoid future crisis events. 832 -862 -0926 to reach IDD Crisis Intervention Specialist TJ Ornelas (832 -802 -9939 back up Jamie White )
