Guiding principles help us take responsibility for our own self-esteem.
Guiding Principles Internal Well Thought Out Clear Compelling
What are your beliefs, your values, your priorities, your purpose, & the principles you want to live your life based upon?
Guiding principles must be truly “owned” by you. Don’t hold on to principles that were passed onto you without evaluating them for yourself.
Our beliefs and assumptions about how the world works. Turning the mirror inward, learning to unearth our internal pictures of the world, to bring them to the surface, and hold them rigorously to scrutiny. Surfacing – Testing – and Improving our internal pictures of how the world works.
Establishing guiding principles is a process that takes time.
Guiding principles aren’t rigid. They are capable of changing as new data becomes available. They should be evaluated periodically.
We must have quick & easy access to our guiding principles in times of high anxiety.
Guiding Principles are not clear until they are written down.
1. Some Guiding Principles might speak to your vows.
2. Some Guiding Principles might speak to the lies you believe about yourself.
3. Some Guiding Principles might speak to your shame/self-esteem.
4. Some Guiding Principles might speak to issues of self-differentiation.
5. Some Guiding Principles might speak to your mission in life.
