Introduction • The economy of Pakistan is surviving because of survival of SMEs. • Almost 90% of all the business are SMEs of which 77% is consisting of industrial employment. • 3, 200, 000 businesses in Pakistan, 90% are private businesses and employ nearly 78% of the nonagriculture labor force (Economic Census of Pakistan 2005).
Introduction • Situation: Play critical role in the progression of technological innovation, sourcing to large industries, promoting economic renewal and social development. • Problem: Not in a condition to survive • Question: How mismanagement is affecting the growth of SME in Pakistan? • Response: Changes should be made to reduce mismanagement issue.
Theoretical Framework • Target market: FMCG (Fast moving consumer goods. • Sample size: 16 FMCG restaurants in Sukkur (Pizza 20, Pizza town, Grillios, Nawab food center, Taj restaurants, Sindhri, Royal Taj Rohri, China fast food, Student fast food, Pizza Palace, Lasani, KFC etc) • Method: Questionnaire

Findings • 56. 25% of SMEs are facing mismanagement issues in their enterprise. • 56. 25% respond that the mismanagement they are currently facing due to lack of intellectual capital. • 43. 75% said that this lack of intellectual capital is due to poor selection and recruitment. • And 75% are working hard to prevent this problem
Recommendations • Consider employees with more experience and skills • Increase the salaries of employees to attract talented workforce • Coordination and communication gap should be removed.
