GUIDELINES FOR PREPARATION & SUBMISSION OF SYNOPSIS
SYNOPSIS • Synopsis is the summary of a project that a candidate intend to do during the program. • The total number of pages of synopsis should not be less than 10 and must not exceed 20 pages • The font size should be 12 and each page should have minimum 20 lines (images are exempted)
SYNOPSIS • Approval of synopsis should be obtained writing from the project coordinator • The structure of the synopsis is given in the following pages in
TITLE PAGE • Title Page • The title page structure is given below: • Tile of the project ( Bold Letters) • Details of the candidate – Name, Roll Number, Specialization etc • Submitted to whom? – Project Coordinator, Wisdom Business School, RAKIA FZ
1. INTRODUCTION § Briefly summarize the topic of the project § Summarize the industry, company, competitive companies, products etc. ( Here you have to mention the brief history of the company, its brief profile now which include activities, products, service etc. )
2. Problem Identification & Problem Formulation • Identification & Definition of the problem § Give a brief statement of the problem or issue or event about which the project is based upon. § Explain its importance and significance to the profession, industry or economy § While selecting the topic, pose to yourself the following questions. This may help you. § Is this the type of issue or problem exists and whether it can be efficiently solved or handled through the process or research? § Do data exist on which the solution may be based? § Is the problem or issue significant?
2. PROBLEM OR ISSUE • Is an important principle involved? • Would the solution make any difference as far as theory and practice are concerned? If not, are there significant problems or issues which need to be investigated? • Is the problem or issue a new one? • Is the answer available? • Is the problem or issue feasible?
3. OBJECTIVE & SCOPE OF STUDY • Mention objectives point by point • Explain narrower and broader points of the objectives • The objectives should be nearer to the solution • The scope of study should be limited to company, industry and time period • Give brief information about the company and the industry in which it operates.
4. HYPOTHESIS FORMULATION § § § Mention various assumptions to be tested Criteria for Hypothesis Construction Null Hypothesis and Alternative Hypothesis Testing of Hypothesis Mention Samples and Sampling
5. DATA COLLECTION (BRIEF SUMMARY) § Mention types of data used and data collection methods § Sources of data should be clearly defined § Tools of data collection should be mentioned with its advantages and disadvantages
5. RESEARCH TOOLS APPLIED § Explain statistical tools, techniques and packages used to measure volatility, efficiency and liquidity of the data
6. CONCLUSION § Give brief summarization of the synopsis. Not more than half page or one page.
