Guidelines for poster presenter § Orientation Portrait / Landscape § Size A 1 (594 mm x 841 mm @ 23. 39" x 33. 11”) § Colour and font types Not restricted § Arrangement A clear, simple, uncluttered arrangement is the most attractive and the easiest to read § Recommended font sizes § Title: >72 pt § Headings: 30 -60 pt § Text: 18 -24 pt Notes: Poster presenter should try printing the poster based on the final draft first, to ensure the clarity of the contents especially text and figures
Submissions § Abstract: Please email your abstract beurc. secretariat@um. edu. my before 26 th March 2018 to § The hardcopy of your poster must be submitted during the registration (12 th April 2018) § Presenters are also requested to submit the softcopy of their poster by 12 th April 2018
Tips § Your poster must correspond to the title and content of the abstract you submitted § Keep the dimensions and size of fonts to proportions § The figures and tables should cover slightly more than 50% of the poster area. If you have only a few illustrations, make them large. Do not omit the text, but keep it brief. The poster should be understandable without oral explanation § Keep it simple and focused. Resist the temptation to overload the poster. More material may mean less effective communication § Posters should be designed for clear viewing from a distance of beyond 3' so that they can be viewed by a number of people at the same time § To ensure visual effectiveness of your poster, use large lettering and a minimum of text § Use of color can visually enhance your poster
Judging process § Posters will be numbered and displayed on free standing boards accordingly throughout the whole programme § Judges/assessors will evaluate the posters in the parallel session § Presenters are required to be present at their board during the judging process § Posters will be graded on the completeness of content, contents, the logic and arrangement of the poster materials and overall quality of the poster § In appreciation and recognition of the efforts of those who participate in the poster competition, a certificate of participation will be issued accordingly
