SANTIAGO CANYON COLLEGE EDUCATION PROGRAM A Guided Pathways Example Pillar One: Create clear curricular pathways to employment and further education • Create templates of semester schedules that would lead to certificates, and degrees (program maps) • Map certificates and degrees from SCC directly to varying types of employment • Map the degrees from SCC to universities and to further education and professional employment
SANTIAGO CANYON COLLEGE EDUCATION PROGRAM A Guided Pathways Example Pillar Two: Help students choose and enter their pathway • Partner with high schools to identify interested students • Provide pathway-specific orientation sessions and advisement • Offer courses that give students an early opportunity to explore the education profession (CNSL-118, EDUC-110, EDUC-113) • Help students develop full, comprehensive educational plans with options
