What is IELTS? The International English Learning Testing System. It’s a standard test of assessing the proficiency of the non-native speakers. This language test is for people applying for higher educational studies, work experience or migration.
The Four Skills of English Language Listening Speaking Writing Reading
The Structure of Writing is the third in the module and the most difficult task. There are two different tasks , essay , letter writing or report writing. Recommended time is 60 minutes and should write to the given word count. (Task 1 -150 words and Task 250 words) The task is assessed on, the Task Achievement, Coherence and cohesion, Lexical resource and grammatical range an accuracy.
Two Types Of Training Academic and General Training General training consists of two parts. General Training Task 1 General Training Task 2
General Training Task 1 Focus This task assess the ability to follow English letter writing conventions(Eg: - what order to put information in , What style to use, how to start and finish a letter). To use language accurately and appropriately and to organize and link information coherently and cohesively.
Letters are divided into three types. Formal- Letters that are written to higher authorities and to people you do not know about. Eg: -“Dear Sir or Madam” Semi-formal- Written to someone who you already know about but the person isn’t that close to you. Eg: -”Dear First Name", ” Dear Mr. /Mrs. Surname” Informal- This type of letter is written to people you already know very well and to someone who is very close to you. Eg: - “Dear Name”, “Dear Surname”
General Writing Task 1 You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. You have heard that a developer plans to build a shopping centre near your home. Write a letter to the council. In your letter say how you heard about the plan explain how you feel about it ask for more information about it Write at least 150 words. You do NOT need to write any addresses. Begin your letter as follows: Dear Sir or Madam,
General Training Task 2 Focus This task assess the ability to follow English discursive writing conventions(i. e. what order to put information in, what style to use, how to start and finish discursive writing, how to paragraph). To oranize and link information coherently and cohesively and to use language accurately and appropriately.
General Writing Task 2 Do the following writing task. You should spend about 40 minutes on this task. You should: Analyses the question. (1 -2 minutes) Brainstorm as many ideas as you can. (2 minutes) Make a plan for the answer. Decide how many paragraphs you will need and choose ideas from the fist you have fact brainstormed, in your plan, note down examples you want to use as well. (2 minutes) Write your answer following your plan. While writing your answer, try to use some conditional sentences and the type of emphatic language. Keep the sample answer in front of you as a model. (30 minutes) Check your work carefully for mistakes. (4 minutes) You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.
Write about the following topic: Nowadays many people have access to computers and a large number of children enjoy playing video games. What are the advantages and disadvantages of playing video games for children? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience. Write at least 250 words.
