Support systems • Always talk to your classroom teacher first – they have the best understanding of the task and it’s requirements. • You can also contact the Head Teacher of the faculty. • The learning centre is open before school, at recess and lunch • ACTIVATE – in 2018 will only be used by students BEFORE a task is due. It will not be available for students ‘catching up’ on previous tasks. • Aboriginal Learning Centre • Homework Club – Wednesdays 3: 30 -5: 00 pm

Consequences for non-submission of tasks • All students are expected to submit their tasks by the due date • Students who don’t submit the task will need to complete the task during lunchtime sessions (up to 3) held in the library. • At the end of the three lunchtime sessions their task will be submitted for marking. • Students who do not attend the lunchtime sessions will be placed onto a monitoring card and required to attend lunchtime sessions as part of their monitoring.

Valid reason for absence from assessment tasks • You must complete a misadventure form detailing the reason for your non or late-submission of the task. This needs to be signed by your parent and submitted to your teacher asap. • If you need an extension to complete a task you must complete a misadventure form and submit it to your teacher at least TWO days BEFORE the due date No misadventure form = lunchtime detentions and no extension

Prolonged absences • If your absence will affect multiple tasks, you will need to complete a misadventure form and submit this directly to the Deputy Principal. Such situations would be: • An unexpected family emergency • Longterm illess • Your Year Advisor is available to help you complete the paperwork in these instances. • In these situations, your tasks may be rescheduled; your tasks may be altered, OR you may receive an estimate based on previous tasks • Note: A family holiday requires prior approval from the Principal at which time arrangements will be made regarding assessment tasks

Other important information • Any counts of plagiarism or malpractice will result in a referral to lunchtime detentions to complete task independently • Computer/Printer failure is not an automatic excuse for inability to complete tasks by the due date – we expect all students to have backups of their work • Students with special examination needs related to a physical condition, visual impairment, hearing loss or trouble expressing ideas in writing may be eligible for special examination conditions. Talk to your teacher if you feel you fit into any of these categories.
