Exemptions No Service member, to include Reservist, is exempt from participating in Initial Counseling,

Exemptions No Service member, to include Reservist, is exempt from participating in Initial Counseling, Pre-separation counseling, Day 1 modules and VA Benefits and Services Brief. Exemptions from the Do. L Workshop are: • Service members retiring after 20 or more years may opt out. • Members of AC, RC and Guard who after serving their first 180 continuous days or more on Active Duty under Title 10 may opt out if they meet at least one of the following: • Must have confirmed employment or documented acceptance to education institution • All Guard and Reserve members who have previously attended TAP may opt out of TAP. • Commanders in the Service member’s chain of command may waive mandatory participation where members are needed to support a unit on orders to be deployed within 60 days. • A “make-up” plan must be developed. [exemption for time requirements] • An exempt Service Member must formally document their decision to not participate on the DD Form 2648. 7

Tracks • All eligible service members are required to choose a Two-Day Track. •

Tracks • All eligible service members are required to choose a Two-Day Track. • Service members in Tier I and II may be waived from participating in tracks. Waiver must be approved by member Chain of Command be documented on DD Form 2648. • Tier III assigned personnel must attend at least one of the four tracks. • Eligible service member may participate in more than one of the Two-Day Tracks, if resources, capacity, and operational requirements allow, based on the Service member’s interests and ability to meet the CRS and complete the track. • Remember: You are still required to meet all Career Readiness Standards and complete a CAPSTONE 8

The CPPA will initiate a TOPS transaction to TSC Memphis customer service for update and verification. • 10 Months • Review NPPSC 1900/2(SEPS) or NPPSC 1800/1(FLT RES/RET) and begin consolidating separation package with your CPPA. • 5 -9 Months • Submit separation package to include all required key supporting documents per NPPSC 1900/2 or NPPSC 1800/1 via TOPS. ***Separation packages must be submitted NLT 60 days prior to member’s PTDY/Leave start date. Delays in submission will result in delayed processing of separation orders and DD-214*** 46

Unverified awards, or items missing supporting documentation will not reflect on the DD-214. Awards must be verified by competent authority, or supporting documentation must be provided before TSC Memphis will add it to the DD-214. ***No exceptions will be made*** 47

Once accepted by AO, DD-214 copies 1 & 4 will be available to the member via BOL. All remaining copies will be distributed to appropriate locations. ***The DD-214 will be available in BOL for five business days. Failure to review & sign will lock document and recycled to AO*** 49
