Issues for Discussion (3) • Inter-Operability between L 2 related standards and L 3 related standards – IEEE 802. xx focuses on specifying L 2 protocols. – RFCs of IETF focuses on L 3 protocols. • For realizing a convergence based on IP, a sub-layer (e. g. , so-called L 2. 5) may be needed.
