Growing Worship Part Three

Review • Knowing, Growing, Understanding, Living, Giving • God’s structured plans work best. • Worship: • In spirit and truth, and from the heart. • Public assembly worship.

Worship • We are commanded (by inference) to participate in the organized worship service. • But our worship to God is not limited to the public worship service. • It should be reflected in our lives that we live every day.

Worship • Romans 12: 1 -2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. {2} And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Worship • • • Our choice a. k. a. free-will Honor God because He is God. Our choices have consequences. Either good or evil—no other choices. Philippians 2: 10 “that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth”,

Worship • In the end, everyone will have worshipped God and Jesus. • Philippians 2: 11 “and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is LORD, to the glory of God the Father. ” • The choice to confess Jesus now before we die, or later after we die. Either way, we will confess Christ. • If we do it now, we can have glory.

Worship • We worship God as we look upon His creation and wonder with awe what He has done. • Must be careful not to worship the creation. • Psalm 99: 9 “Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at His holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy. ”

Worship • Age old question: Who am I? and Why am I here? —what is the purpose of life? • Without a purpose, our life is vanity. • We are important to God and others. • Our life is not (should not be) a waste

Worship • Psalms 115: 4 -8 Their idols are silver and gold, The work of men's hands. {5} They have mouths, but they do not speak; Eyes they have, but they do not see; {6} They have ears, but they do not hear; Noses they have, but they do not smell; {7} They have hands, but they do not handle; Feet they have, but they do not walk; Nor do they mutter through their throat. {8} Those who make them are like them; So is everyone who trusts in them.

Worship • Revelation 7: 9 -12 After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, {10} and crying out with a loud voice, saying, "Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!" {11} All the angels stood around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and fell on their faces before throne and worshiped God, {12} saying: "Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom, Thanksgiving and honor and power and might, Be to our God forever and ever. Amen. "

Worship • Colossians 3: 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. • Acts 17: 23 "for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you: • Philippians 3: 3 For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh,

Worship • Hebrews 1: 6 But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says: "Let all the angels of God worship Him. " • Revelation 14: 7 saying with a loud voice, "Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water. " • Revelation 15: 4 Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy. For all nations shall come and worship before You, For Your judgments have been manifested. "

Worship • There is a purpose for it. • Not just the organized program of "church", but the entire aspect of service to God. • Our life is worship to God. • We must be sure that God is pleased. • We must constantly ask (examine) ourselves if we are acceptable. • Accepted based upon the truth, and not just our emotions. • Let your life be a continuous service to God.
