The Breakfast Club THE BREAKFAST CLUB IS A MOVIE ABOUT FIVE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

The Breakfast Club THE BREAKFAST CLUB IS A MOVIE ABOUT FIVE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS THAT END UP STUCK IN A 7 AM SATURDAY DETENTION ROOM TOGETHER. THE STUDENTS ALL COME FROM 5 OF THE BASIC STEREOTYPES AND CANT RELATE TO EACH OTHER AT ALL. AT THE BEGINNING OF THE MOVIE THEY ALL JUDGED EACH OTHER A LOT AND CARED ABOUT THE PERCEPTION OF THE OTHERS. NONE OF THEM WOULD TALK TO EACH OTHER AND BY THE END OF THE MOVIE THEY ALL BECAME GOOD. THE TWO LETTERS TO THE PRINCIPAL, ONCE WRITTEN AT THE BEGINNING OF THE DAY AND ONE WRITTEN AT THE END SHOW THE STUDENTS HAVE CHANGED THEIR OPINIONS AND BEING STUCK IN A DETENTION ROOM TOGETHER WENT FROM A BAD THING TO A GOOD THING. WE ACCEPT THE FACT THAT WE HAD TO SACRIFICE A WHOLE SATURDAY IN DETENTION FOR WHATEVER IT WAS THAT WE DID WRONG. WHAT WE DID WAS WRONG. BUT WE THINK YOU'RE CRAZY TO MAKE US WRITE THIS ESSAY TELLING YOU WHO WE THINK WE ARE. WHAT DO YOU CARE? YOU SEE US AS YOU WANT TO SEE US. . . IN THE SIMPLEST TERMS AND THE MOST CONVENIENT DEFINITIONS. YOU SEE US AS A BRAIN, AN ATHLETE, A BASKET CASE, A PRINCESS, AND A CRIMINAL. CORRECT? THAT'S HOW WE SAW EACH OTHER AT SEVEN O'CLOCK THIS MORNING. WE WERE BRAINWASHED WE ACCEPT THE FACT THAT WE HAD TO SACRIFICE A WHOLE SATURDAY IN DETENTION FOR WHATEVER IT WAS WE DID WRONG, BUT WE THINK YOU'RE CRAZY TO MAKE US WRITE AN ESSAY TELLING YOU WHO WE THINK WE ARE. YOU SEE US AS YOU WANT TO SEE US. . . IN THE SIMPLEST TERMS AND THE MOST CONVENIENT DEFINITIONS. BUT WHAT WE FOUND OUT IS THAT EACH ONE OF US IS A BRAIN. . . AND AN ATHLETE. . . AND A BASKET CASE. . . A PRINCESS. . . AND A CRIMINAL

The help the help relates to our question because the roles of women are viewed much differently now then they were back then. Aibileen cares about the perception of others a lot because she doesn’t want to get fired by Mrs. Leefolt so she does what she is told to do. Aibileen tends to care a lot about what the white women think of her and doesn’t try to fight the idea of having a separate bathroom outside. how they treat her, Minny how ever does not. She walked out on Mrs. Hilly after she found out that she was planning on making bathroom separate and outside for the help. Skeeter is another example that relates to our question because she wants to become a writer for the Jackson journal but is holding herself back because family and friends want her to be like all the other women in this time, settle down and find a husband. Skeeter stops caring about the perception of others by pursing her dreams and becoming a writer. She writes a book on the perspective of the help and realizes it not caring about the backlash that she would receive from the white women if they found out it was her. By the end of the book both skeeter and Aibileen go from caring about the perception of others to not caring about the perception of others. Doing this was a good idea because skeeter was able to change many peoples perspectives on the colored people and once she started getting paid for her book she was able to share the money with Aibileen and minny, then aibleen was able to afford to take care of herself without having to deal with the white women which made her capable of being able to stand up for herself.

Youtube clip – Kung Fu Panda the effects of bullying This youtube clip was taken from a movie but I still think that this is very relevant to our question. It shows how much someone’s mood can change just by what we say about them. Even though they thought it would be best that Po leave for his own sake, their words still hurt him and you could tell by the way his mood changes. The clip shows how big of an effect the words of others had on him and made him feel like an outsider and unappreciated. We care so much about the perception of others because you may think your forward your best self and then to be made fun of and criticized, no matter who you are, us as humans will always care about the perceptions of others. https: //youtu. be/cy. Who says by selena gomez FOR THE SONG FOR THIS PROJECT, I CHOSE WHO SAYS BY SELENA GOMEZ BECAUSE IT IS ABOUT NOT CARING ABOUT THE PERCEPTION OF OTHERS. THE REASON SHE WROTE THIS SONG WAS TO GET A MESSAGE ACROSS TO HER YOUNG FANS THAT THEY SHOULDN’T CARE ABOUT THE OPINIONS OF OTHERS AND THAT AS LONG AS YOU LOVE YOURSELF THE PERCEPTION OF OTHERS WONT EFFECT YOU. SHE TALKS ABOUT HOW SHE FELT INSECURE WHEN SHE WAS YOUGER ABOUT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THOUGHT ABOUT HER BECAUSE PEOPLE MADE HER FEEL BAD ABOUT HERSELF THEN SHE TALKS ABOUT HOW NOBODY IS PERFECT AND THAT PEOPLE WILL TRY TO PUT YOU DOWN BECAUSE THEY FEEL INSECURE ABOUT THEMSELVES BUT IN THE END YOU JUST HAVE TO LOVE YOURSELF

The philosophy is simple: The process of life is equivocal and understanding is futile.

The philosophy is simple: The process of life is equivocal and understanding is futile. A flurry of emotions consume me. Anxiety, happiness, excitement, and bravery. I would pursue my dreams happily. The only worry that I reserve Is one that would hurt the worst. Emotional enlightenment is what I seek As I travel from peak to peak. Finding this place is no easy task. I must do what I am afraid of, Both mentally and physically. Judgement is the largest of fears. Judgement from my roots, my peers. My family is the worst of all, Because they take it personal. They are afraid for my failure, before I even try. They hold me back because they love me but why Must I hold on to that fear When it keeps me from what I hold dear. Judgement is the beast I must tame Or the only enlightened emotion I have is shame. Next is for my hopes and dreams. Both next here and in the reams The reams of the book that is my life The good, the bad, and mental strife. I battle myself every day Because i cannot muster to say I love my life of comfortability, But it bores me so. Don’t you see? Exploration is what I want, Of places, of people, and thoughts that haunt. I only have one life to spend. What do I have to show in the end. If all I do is listen and follow, I know that it will leave me hollow. Higher education is a prospect so nice, But it is so much like ice. I change direction so quick I usually fall and take a lick. The reason I just now learned, The education I have so yearned Is not where I am being directed, erception of reality is individual. P Perception poem

Perception poem This poem written by Johndb 11 on powerpoetry. com relates to our question because it’s a poem explaining what the effects of what other peoples perceptions can have on an individual and there are thousands of poems like this one. In this poem specifically, it tells the story of how what other people think of him effects him in different shapes and forms and how everything we see is just the tip of the iceberg. Sometimes we may look at others and assume something about them and that may just be your personal perspective of that person but we don’t take into consideration what that person feels after our judgments. We all care about the perception of others to a certain degree, some more than others and we all take the judgement differently.

Personal Connection - alyah A moment when I found myself caring about the perception

Personal Connection - alyah A moment when I found myself caring about the perception of others was when I first started high school. Coming to school every morning I was scared as to what others thought about me. Walking in the front foyer I always thought I was being judged by everyone I walked by. It really puts a damper on your mood when all you can think about is what other people think of you. Eventually I became more confident when I was able to accept the fact that I was different and I didn’t need to worry about what other people thought about me and that if I was happy with myself, then that should be enough. It obviously still matters what other people think of me, but I have just learned to not let it get to me so much and not let that effect me in any negative way. I have found that surrounding myself with the people who accept me for who I am and are there for me no matter what the situation is, there is not a single person in this world who can bring me down.

Sam The Athlete The short story Sam the athlete deals with accepting perception of others and staying true to yourself. Sam is faced with having to overcome the possible judgment and torment from peers and authority figures when sam was confronted by his father while he was wearing his skirt and asked wether or not he would be continuing to wear it sam had to think over and deliberate over our question (and of course a few others) of why do we care so strongly about the perception of others.

Personal connection I feel as if our question could be related to by basically everyone. Me however I've grown up looking acting and being different then everyone around me I never really seemed to fit wherever I was so I tried to be likes everyone else which ended up being one of the worst mistakes of my life. I feel as if we care so much about others perception because maybe we ourselves are lacking the confidence and ability to and accept our true selves, we seek out acceptance and validation from others because its easier then building the skillset to love and accept ourselves.

Conclusion: why do we care about the perception of others? • We care about

Conclusion: why do we care about the perception of others? • We care about the perception of others because we want to impress them. We want everyone to think that we are capable of doing something even if it is out of our league, or we know ourselves that we are not capable of doing something. • We as people feel the need to have validation and acceptance of others because they’re opinion may be the only thing that matters to them. Some of us don’t care about what others think and that’s just they way some people live their lives but us at such a young age feel the need to impress all of our friends and we all have to be considered “cool” just to fit in with the dynamic of certain friend groups.
